As always, Saint Francis Resort regards the safety of our guests and employees with utmost priority and importance. We are actively monitoring the coronavirus (COVID-19) closely and want to let you know that we are working daily to assess any new impacts and updates to travel policies from the appropriate authorities. We are committed to providing you with the relevant information you need to make informed travel decisions. As such, we would like to share the following with you:

  1. The Bahamas confirms its first COVID-19 case on Sunday, March 15th.

  1. Given the growing public health concern and to protect the health and well-being of the population of The Bahamas, effective April 14th 2020, the following travel restrictions will be introduced:

Foreign nationals and foreign individuals who have traveled within the last 20 days from the United Kingdom, Ireland and Europe, will be prohibited entry into The Bahamas. This is in addition to restrictions already in place for China, Iran, Italy and South Korea. This restricted travel list of countries will be continuously monitored and updated as necessary.

  1. All Bahamian nationals and residents returning to The Bahamas through any point of entry from any of the restricted countries or an area where community infection and spread is present will be quarantined or be placed under self-isolation upon arrival and are expected to follow the protocols of the Ministry of Health. Bahamian nationals or residents returning to The Bahamas who have been abroad and believe that they may have been exposed to COVID-19 are asked to contact the Ministry of Health’s hotline or their local health provider.

  1. Non-essential travel by Bahamian nationals and residents and other countries is highly discouraged.

To Our Valued Customers: We have been closely following the developments of the coronavirus (COVID-19) and monitoring information and guidance from relevant authorities. We recognize our unique place within the Exuma Cays. Although we love nothing more than bringing people together, especially during times when we need each other the most, we feel we have a responsibility to do everything we can to mitigate the spread of this virus.

That said, and in keeping with recent Government directives regarding social gatherings and social distancing, we have made the difficult decision to close our public spaces, including our bar and restaurant effective Saturday, March 21st at 8:00 A.M. Our plan is to reopen on or before July 1, 2020, subject to further Bahamian Government advisories. This access will be strictly enforced and subject to the Emergency Powers Order issued Thursday by the Prime Minister.

We sincerely apologize to our regular local customers and other island visitors.  But we feel confident that taking these necessary steps will give Saint Francis a better chance to avoid the worst of this virus. We look forward to opening our doors again in the near future and serving patrons.

To ease any concerns you may have about upcoming travel, Saint Francis Resort will be waiving our normal cancellation fees for guests through June 30, 2020. Should you wish to cancel, please email [email protected]

Thank you for your understanding.
